Hello!
My name is Joyce and I am an immersive installation artist and storyteller.
As a mixed media artist, I am passionate about combining digital technology and physical mediums to create stories you can walk into. Through my work, I envision speculative worlds and systems to explore themes of sustainability, community, wonder and nature that parallels the present.
Forms I explore include, but are not limited to projection mapping, building sets, fashion design, performance art, and creative code.
This fall, I will be joining the Disney College Program in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
Previously, I was at
Urban Creator as a Design Intern, MakeRoom Gallery as a Gallery Intern, and HMMM 흠 Brand as a Store Design Intern.
I am a recent graduate from the Media Arts + Practice division in the School of Cinematic Arts with a focus in Themed Entertainment and Designing for Live Experiences at the University of Southern California.
I recently completed my senior thesis show “Proof of Life” where I presented an installation called “Rediscovered Wonders: A Collection”. This installation is about childhood wonder and our ability to believe and problem-solve with just a little bit of magic. My installation is built with physical materials including set dressing, fabrics, 3D printing, and woodworking - but each prop will fulfill a wish through arduino, animation, and projection mapping. I hope that people leave my installation feeling empowered, imaginative and full of wonder! You can find documentation on this installation on my website in Experience Design.
